Experience a Triumphant Natural Masterpiece

This park is a hidden gem where nature is the main attraction. While it offers all the essential amenities for a great day out—like clean toilets, a cafe, and a kids' playground—the true highlight is the stunning natural landscape.

The grounds feature well-kept paths and trails that make it easy to walk or run. A unique approach to land management allows nature to thrive; much of the vegetation is left to grow with minimal intervention, creating a wild and beautiful scenery that changes with every season. It's truly amazing to think this natural haven was a landfill site until the late 1970s

Spot the Wildlife: From Ponies to Seals

Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled by the animals that call this park home. Keep an eye out for the ponies and bison grazing in the fields. You might even be lucky enough to get close for some great photos. The nearby nature reserve is also home to two breeds of seals, which often colonize the area. While they might be out at sea on some days, there’s always a chance to spot them. According to Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve, you've now chance of spotting seals on the beach between November and March. Something to lookout for in the winter months!

This place is well worth a visit and an even better reason to return throughout the year as the seasons change and the landscape transforms. It's a perfect destination for both a planned day trip and a spontaneous escape into nature. It's amazing how a place with such an industrial past has been reclaimed by nature and is now a thriving ecosystem. It's a reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do for nature is to just let it be.

Refreshment

Flask Set

You may be looking at this and thinking "Hmm I can buy something similar on a certain other site cheaper", but you won't get the same. This flask holds a litre of water: the cheaper ones only hold half a litre. That's not enough for 2 people! 500ml flasks have no purpose but to carry vodka, or whatever your favourite spirit is, when camping: reduce accidents: don;t carry glass bottles! Gary's handy tip of the day: if you have a flask of coffee, that's all you have. If you have a flask of hot water, you have the choice of coffee, tea, noodles or soup. Never fill your flask with anything but water, unless it's a tiny 500ml one!
